2nd Meeting of the International Association of Dental Research-Asia Pacific Region (IADR-APR)
Welcome Message from President of JADR

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to cohost the 2nd IADR-APR to be held on 21st – 23rd August, 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Asian-Pacific region is one of the most rapidly-growing and promising regions in the world. Not only economically and politically, but this region is now becoming one of the academic centers in the world. Comparing with the European and the North American regions, however, the Asian-Pacific region may still be behind in collaboration in terms of dental research.

To promote communication among region, once in 4 years, dental researchers in the region gather for the IADR-APR. This year, the meeting to be held in Thailand, the ‘Country of Smiles’, will provide all participants with a great opportunity to exchange knowledge, share ideas, and create new collaborations for improving oral health in the region and throughout the world in the future.

In 2007, we, the JADR, launched the JADR Travel Award, which gives young dental researchers in Asian countries an opportunity to attend the annual meeting of the JADR in Japan. We will hold the JADR meeting in Japan next year, and thus will be pleased to invite your applications for this award. Detailed information will be provided to each Asian division/section next year. We always welcome exchange and collaboration among dental researchers in the region.

On behalf of the JADR, as a cohost, I would like to invite everyone to participate in this remarkable international conference of dental research. I look forward to welcoming all of you to the 2nd meeting of IADR-APR, and hope that the divisions/sections will grow much closer to each other through this meeting.

Nobuhiro Takahashi
President of the Japanese Association of Dental Research (JADR), the Japanese Division of the IADR
